Life In Tokyo: Vlog #19 Hanami - Cherry Blossom Viewing

Hanami is the japanese springtime tradition of having a party under blossoming cherry trees. While cuturally there is a lot of ground I could get into; its importance in poetry, samurai folk lore and japanese identity, I chose to just record people drinking. As much as people try to make it seem deep it really is just an excuse for people to go sit in the park and get blotto.

Well, since Ive been here 8 years what am I? Im not the "fresh faced foreginer" you mentioned in the other videos comment. But in my time here Ive realized what I already knew instinctually, every country has ups and downs. For you it apparently has only downs, which suggests to me that you are an unhappy, depressive person. Japan is no worse, probably better in some ways than other world capitals. Ive lived in NY, LA & London and feel it compares favorably. But Im not a miserable person.

I was starting to wonder where the Cherry Blossom (Sakura,yay,i know Japanese ^~^) were. I love seeing them, which there was more in Las Vegas,where i live.
