  • that's what the people lived in. It's a true story and the director wants to bring to audiences a closest insight of the character's life, and as well as many others. Personally, I think Vietnamese movies has become a lot better. You can't stay with the old things/old days forever.

  • God bless you, Nguyen Phuoc Lai Thi Minh Hien, 16-year-old girl

  • actually i agree with you baon2219..have you seen those 60s and 70s viet movies? good script great acting... special effects and etc may not be as good but overall they were great films

  • where can i watch this movie ? any1 knows ?? tell me the link ok

  • I just saw this movie and I loved it. Its pretty controversial because its about a very sensitive period (immediately after the war), but its pretty interesting how some things are depicted. I personally feel that it doesn't have any political agenda, but that's me. The story is actually based on a real ex-South Vietnam soldier. I recommend this movie. Watch it (especially if you're anti-Communist), and see how much the war echoes into the present day (sadly).

  • And for anyone who cares, Bui Thac Chuyen, the director, won the a prize in Cannes for one of his short films.

  • oh really ? so what style should they do then? the same one that was 50 years ago? Please! At least they try to break what was old, and bring something new in; and so what with the blood and the booty; it's real what those people was living in, ok. If it was tarantino or miike then it's totally cool, but when it's a vietnamese director.."they're trying too hard"...

  • i think vietnam filmmakers try too hard to be just like the rest of the world in terms of filmmaking style and this is where vietnamese films fail to entertain. we should leads the direction of our films to fit our society not what is the standard---explicit sex and violence for no other reasons but to see booty and blood....geez no wonder the viet audience prefers cai luong over this the world of "film"

  • It's a great movie >.<
