Burning Man Festival Under Way; 50,000 Head to Nevada Desert for 25th Annual Festival

The Twitterverse is on fire on this, the first day of The Burning Man festival.

The weeklong annual event held in the Black Rock Desert in northern Nevada is returning for its 25th year and is described by followers as an experiment in radical self-expression and radical self-reliance.

The ?Burners? immerse themselves in artwork and revelry and refuse cash transactions, relying instead on gifting.

But if this utopian experiment is calling to your inner hippie, youapos;re out of luck. For the first time, the Burning Man festival capped attendance at 50,000, and it has been sold out for over a month.

@MrsNrn It's not for everyone, but it wasn't that hot, I took a shower every day, had hot meals, salads and cocktails, and didn't even bring a dust mask and didn't need one.
