@JRC3034 I agree. I happen to like the overlooked and unknown games and even games made by unknown companies more than the mainstream stuff that the famous companies create.

Before Samurai Shodown, there were several weapon fighting games that even predated SFII, like Great Swordsman, Gladiator and Hippodrome. Between SFII and Samurai Shodown, there were Blandia, Time Killers and Knuckle Heads.
I heard the first Street Fighter (1987) switched its two pressure buttons to six buttons before SFII.
KOF wasn't the first tag-team fighting game, there were Tsuppari Wars and an SNES Ranma1/2 game.
Ground attacks were done in Pit-Fighter and Dino-Rex before DarkStalkers.
