Hey all, here is a song that's been marinating for a while. Hope everyone is having a great holiday!

I'm recalling all the stupid things I wrote
I hope you never read them, lest they make you want to throw up your arms
into the air and give up on me

I admit I have been quick to jump the gun,
"sometimes I think that
you lead me on for fun," it might have hurt a little had it been true,
but it probably left you feeling confused

I couldn't say what gets into me
I guess I'm acting out
my patience was inversely proportional
to the love I thought I felt.

Historically I tend to be naive
back in those days I liked cliches and make believe
remembering you rescuing me, from an avalanche on my first christmas eve

"I never want to speak to you again,"
a tougher sentence I could never serve myself back then
you might not have received (though it's more likely you ignored)
this mis-guided request from an impossible amour
Forget, it doesn't matter anymore

  • this is making my ears juice themsleves.

You always amaze me with you talent and the originality :) the last para is crazed to the max.

  • You're very kind, take care!

  • Another great tune. I may repeat myself but your voice is really great. So, if you stop by in germany on your tour: I'll be there! ;-)

  • Same goes for you man, let me know when you're touring the west coast and I'm there!

  • I think this is one of your very best songs to date Raul. It has a terrific feel to it and you do that totally unexpected modulation on the "Christmas Eve" line. You always things like this too, both lyrically and musically, and it always works. When you and Josef decide to go on tour together let me know. I want to see some of those shows for sure. -Ron

  • Hey Ron, I'm glad you liked it! I think the song has potential to get more complex musically, I'm gonna try and experiment. As long as you make sure you get on the bill too, let's make the tour happen! Later, Raul

  • this rules, bro. what geetar are you playing on?

  • I like it alot, it's reminding me of someone, something, but can't quite put my finger on it. Daniel Johnson kind of, but there is something else.

    Good stuff.

  • What wonderfully personal song! I especially like the way you share a word in two phrases of the last line "Forget it" (shares "it" with "it doesn't matter anymore"). Maybe I'm reading something into it that wasn't intended, but I enjoyed it none the less.

  • it is perfect!!! maybe its because i havent heard you in a while but i really really love this song!! the melody is simple and effective!!! CHEERS!

  • you say it, brother!!

  • My favorite moment is at 1:34. And I love the guitar solo just after that. So great to hear a new song from you. Are you and Josef really going on tour?

Please let me know because I'd have to come see you guys.

As always, well written lyrics, great vocal and presentation of this song.
