The Boeing 707 launched a new revaluation in air travel, it crossed the North Atlantic in half of the time, and opened the era of jet aircraft. Lufthansa entered the jet era in 1960 with Boeing 707-430 named "Oscar-Bravo" and began it's jet journey from there. The Boeing 707 opened new frontiers for Lufthansa, and in 1962 Lufthansa carried twice as many passengers then ever before.
In 1964 Lufthansa added Boeing 727 to it's fleet, and was the first airline to operate 727 in Europe.
In 1967 Boeing introduced its new Model, the Boeing 737-100 and in mid 60s Lufthansa received its first deliveries. Lufthansa operated, and still operates the Boeing 737 in its fleet.
In 1970 Boeing made a international sensation with the Boeing 747-200, and Lufthansa placed orders on this Jumbo jet. To this day Lufthansa still operates 747 in its fleet.
