This man of God speaks the truth. Perverts are making a mockery of what Dr Martin Luther King Jr died for. It's a travesty. An act so detestable, shameful, and unhealthy that its been illegal in "every" State since our inception. Until the same activist court that legalized murdering babies usurped a tyranny on the States in the 60's. And our now brainwashing us through the Board of Education and Hollywood. We must overcome. Amen.
"Homophobia is like racism and anti-Semitism and other forms of bigotry in that it seeks to dehumanize a large group of people, to deny their humanity, their dignity and personhood," King stated. "This sets the stage for further repression and violence that spread all too easily to victimize the next minority group."

Just the fact that NOM calls it the "Black Church" shows how all of its members are bigoted and racist. These AFRICAN AMERICANS are helping the same people who were taking away their rights
I cant help but wonder what Rev. Owens has to say about the vast number of Negros who are living on the WELFARE dollars that are put in the coffers by LGBT tax payers. What a full blown ignoramous.
This Owens guy .. says that the Civil Rights movement "Wasn't for them", speaking, of course, about the LGBT community. It may surprise him to realize that Dr. King FULLLLLY supported Gay Rights under the canopy of "Civil Rights" and Mrs. King, herself, supported Gay Marriage (which battle began after Dr. King was gone). Of course Mr. Owens doesn't even seem to know the correct name of his own denomination, so why am I not surprised at his blatant ignorance?
The denomination is actuall the Church of God IN Christ, but no big deal about anyone being intelligent enough to know that or care. With all the drug abuse, teen pregnancy, children being raised in single parent households, outrageous numbers of blacks in prison because of lives of crime, generation after generation of families living on welfare (the family business?), black on black violence ... I can't help but wonder about their focus on Gay Marriage. Get your house in order Rev.
The BLACK church? I may be an athiest, but I'm rather sure that the christian church is for EVERYONE. But fuck, I'm expecting acceptance from THESE PEOPLE.
@SeminarioMAE Therein lies the problem. When a black man wants to marry a white woman it's a 'basic right. When a person wants to marry their same sex partner somehow its something completely different. You might as well say that when a man votes, it's a basic human right, but when a woman votes, it's an extra privilege. You could also just as easily say that when a catholic practices Catholicism it's a basic right, but when a Jew practices Judaism, it's not a basic right. Is this fair and just?

Anyone who thinks that this nasty bigot represents black people in New York state, should take a look at the YouTube videos:
"Whoopi Goldberg for HRC's New Yorkers for Marriage Equality"
"Michael Strahan for HRC's NYers for Marriage Equality"
"Vanessa Williams for HRC's NYers for Marriage Equality"
They present a far different, and far better, point of view.
