Such a lame answer. Active pickups have a lot of dynamics.

@m3at i have to agree, people say, err emgs cut mids to much so its bassy and trebly, but i disagree, i find emgs have perfectly fine mids, you just dont need to cut mids as much when you play metal because there mids aren't overpowering like alot of passive pickups,

How do you like the way the duncans respond to the wood?
-
My schecter Hellraiser has Seymour Duncan Blackouts
-
@m3at Killer tone!!!! Could be their best amp
-
@m3at emgs are good for soloing too, i find the 60 is a dream neck pickup, so versitile
-
I like your guitar. The duncans sound great.

Is the action on this guitar nice and low for speed?
zigzaghookie 2 months ago
@zigzaghookie It's been about 3 years since I've had this guitar, but if I recall correctly, the action was pretty decent. Doesn't compare to the Ibanez Wizard neck, but better than my Les Paul.

i find that passive pickups are better for melodic soloing and neoclassical shred, but when you're trying to do heavy chugging, that's where i find emgs sound tighter, a lot of passives sound muddy when u try and chug.

@DemmelitionMan95 Lately I'm really digging the EMG's for both, soloing and chugging.

Hey guy, just wondering is that straight through the amp or are you using distortion pedals?
