So many games were released before and after Shenmue. So many impovments in video game world yet... not a single one surpassed this game or was even close.

There was no Japanese version on the Xbox, the Japanese version (with English subtitles) was only on Dreamcast in Europe :)

xD really??? When I first played it I would chase Larry before I learnt the route Ren takes and go straight after him. I'm going to have to go after Cool Z one of these days.
