"And now we are at war, and we are going to make war..." when shooting down 15 planes was seen as a victory. When just surviving the winter was supposedly a victory. 'understanding patience'... The virtue needed by all people at war even to this day. But it's so interesting to hear him offer nice words to Italy and Japan... Fascinating.

Interesting upload. It's striking how unconvincing he sounds here, when compared to his later speeches. Given the unfounded optimism maybe it's not surprising.

Very interesting his pronounciation of Nazi and Stalin, you'd think he'd've been told how to pronounce such names, baring in mind he'd met them in the past.
