Jim Phypers plays alto recorder with synthesized accompaniment for two recorders, cello, and harpsichord. Johann Joachim Quantz (1697-1773) wrote many flute sonatas and concertos for his patron, Frederick the Great of Prussia, who was himself an accomplished flutist. Before he ascended to the throne, Frederick studied flute with one of the leading flutists of his day who was in fact Johann Joachim Quantz. Sometimes it´s not easy to find some harpsichordist to play with ! But i´m enjoyning listen to your recording of this beautiful movement from Quantz. It sounds a little bit "french" in style"...thank you Jim! from Luiz - Sao Paulo - Brazil.
