I shouldn't have to be explaining this. I should HAVE to make a video about why atheists fight against religion. It SHOULD be bloody obvious...but apparently it isn't, and InventorGorilla has decided it's because we atheists actually DO believe in god.

...I shouldn't have to explain why that's wrong, EITHER.

But apparently I do. I wouldn't know of this video if it were for SoretaYuki (http://www.youtube.com/user/SoretaYuki), who made a response to InventorGorilla; imagine my surprise to hear MY name come up during the video!
So I felt I had every reason to make a response of my own.

I argue against religion because:

A) Faith is stupid, belief without proof is stupid.
B) Religion is used as an excuse to hate and hurt people.
C) Because it is often forced upon us by rule of law.

These are perfectly good, genuine reasons...but InventorGorilla doesn't seem to think so, apparently.

As for the claims of being against abortion and stem cell research, I am against those things for more than religious reasons. To me, a baby is a life and should not be killed. Stem Cell research at this stage of human existance would likely be used by some in a dangerous manner by militaries. I am curious though as to why lesbians are so pro abortion when the nature of their chosen companions prohibits them from getting pregnant in the first place. Its like being athiest and attacking God.

@KarmaCollin It's not "pro-abortion", it's pro-CHOICE. It's about being in control of your own body instead of letting someone else make the choices FOR you. And it's about women being considered full-fledged people, and not the chattel of males.

I'd think that'd be OBVIOUS.

Join you in supporting your beliefs while you offend mine? That would be like jews joining the nazis in the holocaust. You are attacking a large group of people for the actions of only a few. Your actions are creating injured parties but you don't seem to care. Funny thing is you as a lesbian who has been hated on should be realizing that the things you are doing are the things you hate yourself. Does that make me your enemy too? Must be hard to live with so much hate in your heart.

@KarmaCollin It's not HATE. I told you, it's SELF-DEFENSE. If the religious could mind their own business, I wouldn't hold them in even as much contempt as, say, "Twilight" fans or those weirdos who like Justin Beiber.

But they DON'T mind their own business, and by not telling them to shut the hell up--which IS in your own best interest--you are giving them tacit approval, in effect joining their camp.

Is that what you want? Or do you want to show MY side that the religious CAN be benign?

@BionicDance It is hatred, you hate religious people, all of them. You denounce my beliefs and call my God a fucker after I told you that you can live how you want to and as a religious person I don't care who you marry. Perhaps if you were more respectful to other people's feelings and beliefs and only spoke against the handful instead of all of us, I could agree with you on some level. You preach against all people of faith, and that is wrong. I won't enable any fanatic, that includes you.

...and I'M the fanatic? *rolls eyes* I just want to see people who believe in an imaginary sky-fairy to stop making life more difficult for me and people I care about, and I'm a wee bit cranky at the people who've done it and those who enable them...and you use THAT as an excuse to enable the assholes, because you nominally belong to their side.

@BionicDance To me its a life and has nothing to do with reverse sexism. I cant agree with youbecause you label too many who have done nothing. I will end with this. If you came to my church as a homosexual, my church doesnt believe in that life style. But nobody would kick you out, get in your face or do anything mean to you. You would be welcome. Consider that when you think all religious people are out to get you. I hope you find peace. Be well.
