Nat:-Embarrassed.- Oh Right.
Allie:-Smiling.- I love it.
They looked at each other smiling. Nat just looked at Allies beautiful smile.
Allie: Why are you looking at me like that?
Nat: Because.
Allie: Because why?
Nat: Youre smile is so amazing.
Allie: -Playfully shoving Nat.- Oh youre so full of it.
Nat: No Im serious. Pulling her close to him by her waist.- Come here.
Allie: What are you doing?
Nat: Something that Ive wanted to do since I met you.
Nat bent his neck down to kiss Allie. Allie melted in Nats arms when he kissed her. Allie pulled away.
Allie: Where did that come from?
Nat: I have no idea. I guess you just make me do crazy things.
Allie and Nat laughed, they walked over to the picnic blanket that Nat had laid out. They laid down on it with Nat wrapping his right arm around her, and then resting his head on his left arm.
Nat: So are you really afraid of the dark?
Allie: Some times. Only in places I dont know.
Nat: -Laughing.-
Allie: -Hits him.- Shut up.
Nat: No, no. Its a completely legitimate fear to have...for a 6 year old.
Allie: Ha-ha, very funny.
Nat: Sorry, but you have to admit, it is a little bit funny.
Allie: Yeah, well what are you afraid of tough guy?
Nat: I dont know. I dont know if Im afraid of stuff.
Allie: Youre just saying that.
Nat:-Smiling.- No Im not. I honestly dont know what Im afraid of.
Allie: Nat, you dont have to pretend that youre not afraid of stuff.
Nat: I know.
Nat held Allies hand and she rested her head on his chest. They stayed like that for a little while longer until Allie had to get home for curfew.
-At Allies front door.-
Allie: Thanks for a great night.
Nat: Not a problem. Smiling.-
Nat leant down to kiss her again, but Mrs. DiMeco opened the door.
Laura: Hi Allie. Glaring at Nat.- Nat.
Allie: -Sighs.- 5 more minutes.
Laura: Not a chance. Inside now.
Allie: Ill see you at school?
Nat: Of course. He kissed her on the cheek and left.-
Allie: Was that really necessary?
Laura: Yes.
Allie: I cant believe you.
Laura: Neither can I. Leaving me a note to tell me that you were going out? You didnt say where you were going or when you would be back. How am I supposed to trust you when you leave such undescriptive notes like that?
Allie: Because Im your daughter. Thats why. And anyway, Nat is a good guy. He cares about me and even if he was what you think he is, I can take care of myself.
Laura: Allie, I just think that youre rushing into a relationship to quickly.
Allie: Whatever.
Allie stormed up to her room and slammed the door. She got ready for bed and went to sleep. In the morning her mom had left for work so she got ready for school.
-At the bus stop.-
Nat: Hey there.
Alex: Hey beautiful. Nat hit him over the back of the head.- Ow.
Allie: -Giggling.- Hey guys.
Nat: Did you sleep alright?
Allie: Yeah, I did after the screaming match with my mom.
Nat: Screaming match?
Alex: Woo girl fight.
Nat: Ok, over there Points a few meters away.- And stop talking like a perverted old man you dork.
Alex: Fine. Walked away.-
Nat: Sorry about him. Weve been trying to train him for years.
Allie: -Smiling.- Its ok. I love to have a little brother as vibrant as him.
Nat: You can have him, free of charge.
Allie: -Laughing.- Im good. But thanks for the offer.
The bus came and Nat, Allie and Alex got on and went to school. Alex went into the middle school, while Allie and Nat went into the high school. The day moved pretty slowly until they got to lunch when Allies phone started vibrating.
Allie: Hello?
Laura: You need to come now.
Allie: What?
Laura: Just come OK?
Allie: Im coming now.
Allie got up and left.
