I just had one put in too, I'm only 19 though! I'm one of the lucky ones I suppose. They think I have Hassiguerre Syndrome (still not sure if that's how it's spelt.) Having a cardiac arrest at 19 is indeed quite a shocking thing to be told!

The unit I have is a Medtronic Secura VR D23VRC. I'm a university student from Slough, studying in Bournemouth. My condition is quite rare apparently, it's a rhythm disorder called Hassiguerre Syndrome (not sure of the spelling) that causes my heart to fibrillate when I exercise too much, so as long as I'm careful when I do exercise, it should never have to shock me.
