If the cultural presumption was that you would move in with your husband's parents and basically serve under his mother's command, and have children if and when they decided it was okay, you would probably also make it a point to mention that you expect separate living arrangements. For Europeans & Americans that's a given. Like the last guy said, "we take it for granted." If a future spouse expected you move in with his/her parents, that's what would need explaining for us.
