On May 19, 2009 I was assigned the forecast for the state of Florida and the Southeastern US. The forecast was cool and wet as an atypical low-pressure system moved across the peninsula and back toward Tallahassee. Note my explanation of the correlation between dew points and moisture, rain cooling, and the water vapor loop. I emphasize the forecast heading toward Memorial Day and give a preseason look at the tropics with a reminder that now is the time to make a plan. You will also get an idea for my knowledge and use of local geography throughout the region.
