Ask the African is a short video series featuring people of African ancestry articulating points of view about some of the most pressing issues that affect Africa and the African world. In this clip, Mr Musavuli explains why the conflict mineral approach will not end the conflict in the Congo expeditiously and provides an analysis of that approach.
@TheCentralQueen I mean it was the Euro-Americans who in collaboration with the tribal-western Africans of Congo killedl Lumumba for their mutual economic &political interest.Yet Kambale stupidly calls on "international" community and the West this is such bullshit. We Africans die every day for nothing, but we are afraid to die for African progress. We want freedom without sacrifice, that is our problem we appeal for help to the same people who are exploiting our lack of African consciousness

@TheCentralQueen Though Kambale may have good intentions, his approach is sterile naive and contradictory. I mean he talks about "self proclaimed Western experts" but his solution to the problems of the Great lakes is rely and appeals to "Western" countries to either do this or stop that. This is the problem with African, we are scared of dying for a cause, we want progress on the cheap, so societies have ever progressed by calling on the same people that exploit their situation to change it

@TheCentralQueen you hit it on the head and I wish more Africans could see that our problem is a lack of consciousness, the non-tribal non-western oriented African does not even exist. That is why Lumumba, our greatest prince of African dignity could be killed like how he was with so little resistance among the people, who had either tribal or western consciousness but no real African consciousness...basically we African people lack a modern moral ethical compass of our own

@neillou81 I agree with your point. The war in the Congo has more to do with just Rwanda and Uganda. The blaming game is so old and has a congolesse citizen I believe that we need to stop blaming and start coming together in order to fix Africa has a whole. Many congolesse people themselves are not even a aware of what is going in their own country. When Lumumba died the congolesse people stood by and watched and barely did nothing.

@neillou81 Mobutu didn't start a war and there were no congolese that started it.You brought your dirty killing mentality from Rwanda. We have more than 450 tribes and nobody fights nobody. Just have a look at political parties (opposition or AMP) they're all mixed up!. We want PEACE . Take your bags and GOOOOO HOME. DIRTY ANIMALS TUTSIS!!

@neillou81 The so call Mobutu's billions are no where to be found and Rwanda & Uganda's invension of Congo and the killing of 6 millions of Congolese have nothing to do with Mobutu.
Rwanda & Uganda or Kagame and Museveni have brought hell to Congo, it is well documented. Uganda fighting Rwanda in Kinsangani-Congo has also been well documented. These are facts. Nkundabatware has been hidding in Rwanda at this moment, so, there is too much blood trail going toward Kagame and Museveni.

I like that you say the way you see things. You tend to blame almost only Rwanda&Uganda, for that happened in Congo you seem to ignore Kabila senior and junior complicity and other Congolese rebels. What happened in Congo is an African world war, there were other African countries and mostly western countries behind all.You also forgot to mention FDLR which still wants to attack. But I am aware that if Congo has no peace we have no peace and Africa has no peace.Salama/peace !!!

let's not kid ourselves here....YES Mobutu is to blame for finincially rapping the Congo...90% of Congolese people agree to that! but the true is that since Mobutu died...the current leaders of Rwanda and Uganda have clearly supported rebels and looted the hell out of the Congo...and that's a facts my friend.

dear Kambale,I am from Rwanda I dont agree with some of what you say(the way you explain)you skip some realities.According to you, you're blaming Rwanda&Uganda for all Congo miseries? You forgot to mention Mobutu, his 30yrs rule, where are his billions? But like you I strongly want to see/wish/dream to see a peaceful, prosperous, stable RDC, Rwanda,Region des grands lacs, and Africa generally.Enough with suffering, enough with wars...Respect man.Peace
