  • Have you ever plowed commercially? Besides that, I was accelerating easy, its a 4 barrel and rarely ever open up the secondaries when plowing. Bad enough it gets 6mpg driving around town. And I could care less how long engine lasts, its getting a Cummins put in it soon. FWIW, plow can trip on 2" raise, but as I said I am well familiar with the lots and know of every drain, cap and crack in them and slow down for every known obstacle.

  • The engine has a lot left in it, was rebuilt not too long ago and is good for a bunch more miles. Your just hearing a header leak. And thats not really "fast" for me plowing. I don't go much faster but on a smooth lot there is no need or use in going slower. We plow every few inches and know the lots, no surprises to hit anything and the plow has trip springs that allow it to flip over should it hit anything, no damage to truck and the mount is strong.

  • You should be easy by slow accelerator like you drive normal. Accelerator too fast= worn out engine faster.

Plow at that speed= disaster why there could be cement raise couple inches then Plow couldn't trip that much.

  • by the sounds of that engine I dont think it has alot left in it??? plowing at that speed he should be careful as if he hits something in that snow it is going to rip the plow right off that old dodge????
