Double whammy! Aaron gives you a quick tutorial on how to use the Marc Petitjean magic tool and ties an awesome dry fly pattern for the springtime, especially in the Northeast on streams we fish in New Jersey, Pennsylvania,Connecticut, and New York. The CDC not only creates a super life like look, but it also floats like a charm.

  • I bought the right scissors from Marc at the Fly Tying Symposium. I know what you mean. They make using the tool much easier!

  • Exciting fly.

Tip, before the Thread split simple twisting counter-clockwise, then it's easier.

    Greetings

    Markus Europe Fly Tyer

  • Mrkus,

Good tip. I tried it the past two days and it worked well!

    Thanks,

    Aaron

  • Holy cow! What an unbelievably complicated fly.

How about a dubbing loop with a turbo loop spinner instead of dicking around

    splitting the thread?

  • one thing i noticed was that you had to keep coming back in with your scissors when you had the material in the secound clip . when using the tool i find it helpful to use a pair of scissors that have long enough blades to do all the cutting in one motion. MP sells a really nice pair of long edge scissors but for the starving college student a good pair of craft shears has served me well

  • Where can i find this Hat?

  • Nice fly and video. Thanks for doing them

  • @troutpredator

No problem, you're welcome. I come from the home of MP and do it for a long time. Greetings Markus
