I don't think he killed Steven.  Doesn't anyone know Lance is the 4th memeber of the elite four. But it seems like he's not yet in the movie or shows so this must be before that happens. And if any of you play the pokemon games you would know that they take place while Lance is an Elite Four member. And in Saphire Ruby and Emrald you can battle Steven.

STEVEN was a good trainer. But the Regis were to strong and were under controled by Zen as they've been capture and are now his POKeMON
