Winds of Rebellion (W.O.R.)

This is the tech demo showing the first stage. Main engine is done, but still there's a lot to do.
I was going to include the synopsis to the plot, but I'll live it to some time later.

W.O.R. is a homage to 2D shooting games in general. It shows influences of DoDonPachi, Ikaruga and other games. The idea of the carrier ship in the beginning is clearly taken from DonPachi series, but it has a big importance in the plot. Yes, there's a plot and a definite scenario.

  • I'm trying to answer you, but youtube is not allowing I don't know why!

  • Anyway, I describe it without the code. Maybe youtube is blocking the characters in the code. What I do is to create a variable that gets increments of one in the step of an object that controls the stage. This is the timer. In the draw event, I use draw_sprite to draw an image for the background, but the y argument is relative to the time so that at each step it goes down half pixel. After it's shown entirelly, another image will scroll down.

  • hello criss(i hope it's realy v name)! as always i'll say sorry for my bad english in advance (i can speak german, frensh and arabic better^^). so, for the backgrounds im using another tricks. i just finished the 2nd level of my STG, please take a look, all critics are welcome!i'll put it as a video response here! see ya!

  • Daew Cris eu to fazendo um Engine de 1 jogo meu mas eu tive que ve seu tutorial, poo cara gostei pra caramba eu tinha muita dificuldade em fazer jogos desse estilo então resolvi pesquisar aquele tutorial que você fez ta muito show cara! claro que os créditos vão pra você! o/

  • The system combination of Ikaruga and Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu is a nice idea. The BGM is good, too. The primary disadvantage is graphic. It still have much to be improved. If that can be done, this will be undoubtedly awesome.
