My name is Guy, and when it comes to playing the piano, I'm self-educated, from top to botton...
Even though I've never been taught, 10 years playing and some great determination made me the pianist I am.

Unlike my usual recordings, in which my Yamaha DGX 505 is just a Midi-Controller, this time you can hear the way it really sounds.

Have fun! ^^

  • How do you increase the recording time to more than just 10 minutes for the User Songs ?

  • @allisonmodels

AFAIK, every user can upload 15 min long videos.

I have the ability to upload even logner ones, though.

I've got a mail, explainin that I've been chosen for that feature, due to being a veteran user, with many views, whiel staying true to their tearm of service.

I find it pathetic, since the only video I have, with many views, is an illegal upload of a symphony x song.

  • and ... will you recommend me a book or a special guide for learn?

  • @dedelacruza

Hey, Daniel, I do recommend starting with the DGX 505, if it is not too expensive for you to start with.

Those kinds of keyboards are far from being the best, ofcourse. Their sound is is quite mediocre, and they to not give you too much options to tweak your sound. Yammaha is great at creating hybrid keys, something between keyboards to electric piano. DGX 505 has really soft keys, so you won't have a hard time starting.

It also can be connected to the pc with a USB cable and be

A Midi Controller, making you able to use VSTs and VSTis and have super-high quality sound, depends on the software you are using.

If you feel you really like it, after years of playing, feel free to purchase a piano or an electric piano if you are into being a pianist, or a workstation, if you are into being a keyboardist. DGX505's keys are soft. They do not feel like playing a real piano, but really are handy when you connect it to the computer and play a fast shredding solo

I do not know any books. I will type here tomorrow how I learned to play, if it really interests you. O:

Good luck, and have fun. :D

Pianos and keyboard have some very advance techniques that can compete with the difficulty of advanced guitar techniques, but starting to play a piano, is much easier than start to learn how to play a guitar.

Pianos are beginner-friendly; a good instrument ti start with and learn about harmony.

  • @TheKeyboardSam

5 Channels for instruments + 1 for Style.

Keyboard cannot play more then 32 (I think that's the number) notes at the same time and therefore recording many instruments on it doesn't work that great.

Without that availability of editing, I would not recommend recording anything like that anyway.

If you want to record, get a sequencer software and use DGX505 as a Midi Controller.

    Good Luck! (;

  • Hey, do you know if this one have an 6 channel recording button or anything else like the 520 or 630
