Rain: Sidi Bou Said, Hotel Dar Said

Horse cart: For a few dinars, skinny horses take you where you want to go in Tozeur.

Train: The Red Lizard out of Metlaoui. The train was built in 1910, it was used by the bey of Tunis for many years and now shuttles tourists to the Seldja George, a spectacular rock formation caused the Oued Selja cutting through tilted marine sediments.

Dance: Desert outside Tozeur. This was the film crew celebrating the last day of shooting. You have never tasted dates so good. Served with a glass of milk.

Camel Scene: In Kairouan at Bir Barouta, a well built by the Ottomans in 1676. For many, drinking water from this cistern is a religious experience because they believe that the waters here are linked to the well of Zem-Zem in Mecca. We found this place by accident, wandering around the Medina in Kairouan when we saw some mysterious looking stairs. At the top we look to the right to see a dark room with a blinkered camel attached to set of large cogs. The camel man waves us in, there is a dish for coins and some vessels filled with water. He taps his stick a few times and we press ourselves against the wall as the camel starts forward around his track, drawing water up in ceramic jars from hundreds of feet down.

Medina in Tunis: Medina translates to city or town in Arabic, and at one point, the walled portion of the city was all that existed. It is a twisted maze of narrow alleys, part residential and part market. The tall pathways are meant to accommodate a fully loaded camel and protect it's inhabitants against the sun. You have never met such persistent salesmen.

  • In TUNISIA: despotic regime leading to social unrest, hungry people, no human rights, no democracy or freedom. Corruption, Favouritism. Chaos, Illness, Hatred, Aids, Drugs, Cocaine, Prostitution, and Ignorance are in the whole country.

The dictatorship in Tunisia is classified 4th in the world, TUNISIA is a Nazi, fascist police state. Land of singers, dancers, hairdressers and footballers not scientists. Ben Ali is the Pharaoh of Tunisia, the Tunisians are slaves under his rule.
