Elfen Lied: Lilium on classical guitar by Da Vynci

Lilium, from Elfen Lied, composed by Yukio Kondo (近藤由紀夫) and Kayo Konishi (小西香葉), arranged and performed on guitar by me da Vynic.

After I saw numerous talented youtubers covering this enchanting song, out of curiosity I located and watched the anime Elfen Lied.

For someone who grew up watching Doraemon and Saint Seiya, Elfen Lied is definitely highly unusual, even a little scary. This psychological horror drama contains so many tabooed and controversial themes that you don't (and shouldn't) normally see in other TV animes. Its nonlinear plots portray issues such as social alienation, identity, love, jealousy, hatred, revenge animal cruelty, and value of humanity, immersed under scenes of graphic violence and hidden behind innocent-looking characters.

My favourite episode is Episode 9, titled "Reminiscence ~ Schöne Erinnerung" "Tsuioku" (追憶). I like the plot where it tells how Kohta first met Lucy, as well as the rest of their childhood memory. Lucy's struggle against dissociative identity disorder and Kohta's sufferance from repressive traumatic memories is sad.

Having said that, although Elfen Lied is remarkable, it is not yet my favourite anime, Animatrix and Macross Zero are.

to be honest i played this at a talent show in britain because someone asked me to so i did and i felt sorry for what i did because it made everything sad and made people cry and i was like ¬_¬ wtf

@shinvegaa while he must have taken a large amount of time to compose his own version of the Lillium song, I don't think it would really be offensive. Personally, I would feel proud to have somebody who wants to play something I made.
