http://www.expertsmarketingcoach.com Question: What's your business card strategy? Or, Do you even have a business card strategy? For most people, their strategy for handing out their business cards is to slap it in the hands of anyone who's willing to open their hands and take one.

This is the equivalent to "pray and spray" marketing and is the most ineffective way of handing out your business cards with the intention of gaining the attention of qualified prospects.

I know you got 1,000 of them printed and so now you feel the need to get rid of them and, you may even have got them free via VistaPrint but, just handing them out to anyone who will accept them is indicative that not only do you not have a strategy for marketing with your business cards, but, that you don't really have a marketing strategy at all.

I've been to seminars, conferences and networking meetings and you see some people who have come intentionally to hand out all the cards they brought with them, and the look of satisfaction on their faces once they've done tells a good story ... "wow, I did well ... I've emptied my hands of all of my business cards."

In my view, the best way to market with your business card is to hand them to people with whom you've connected and had a conversation with. That way, they are more likely to remember you and, if you write something on the card, which could be something as silly as what you were wearing or, something about the conversation you had with the other person, they are more likely to remember you.

When you call them days later to follow up, you're less likely to get a "I don't remember you response" and more likely to get "oh gosh, I remember you ... you were the lady or man who ..."

And there you have connection again, but this time over the telephone.

This is a far better strategy than littering the already dishevelled table of your doctor's, dentists or chiropractic's offices which again, isn't actually a strategy at all.

In this video, my aim is to get you to stop before you throw your business card at everyone you think is a prospect and be more targeted in your marketing with your business cards.
