The Jeff Warren Johnston Band performs their classic-sounding, country music at popular live music venues in Austin, Texas. The mission of the JWJ Band is to please listeners longing for that "real" country music sound in the vein of traditional artists such as Hank Williams, Willie Nelson, David Allan Coe, Merle Haggard, George Jones, and Johnny Cash, while simultaneously paving new country roads. This particular song is inspired by sad country songs rock, and country ballads ala Hank Williams, Robert Earl Keen, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, and Beck. Each girl in the song is based on a real-life girlfriend of Jeff''s, although the name Emily is made up.

The JWJ Band highly recommends: The Marshall Ford Swing Band, the Atomic Duo, the Love Leighs, Jack Wilson, Raina Rose, Terri Hendrix, Corrina's Dreamland Band, Guy Forsyth, Milk Drive, Sick's Pack, The Belleville Outfit, Junior Brown, Dale Watson, Robert Earl Keen, and the Bad Livers

LYRICS:

Emma Lee, don't roll your eyes at me
I can't take the pain you save
If I'm as bad as the men you've had
I would not be right here with you, Emma Lee

Olivia, what's got into ya?
You say you love me, but you're so mean
You broke my luck, and you stole my truck
But I'd still take you back someday, Olivia

All these women I keep grabbin' hold
Just make me feel like I'm gettin' old
And I think we'd better have another drink
Before them tears fall down again, let's just be friends

Sarah Bell, I thought you knew me well
But I can see you don't know me
I'd never lie, I'd sooner die
Than watch you cryin' one more time, Sarah Bell

Brenda Lynn, well how ya been?
I have not kissed you in oh so long
You sure belong inside this song
If you could see the state I'm in, Brenda Lynn

All these women I keep grabbin' hold
Can't seem to stop my heart from gettin' cold
And I think we'd better have another drink
Before them tears fall down again, let's just be friends

(C) 2009 Jeff Warren Johnston
