Matt recently started a new front view portrait drawing tutorial. Many members of Drawing Tutorials Online have requested this front view tutorial because it's tough to draw. Matt decided to draw this tutorial digitally using his Cintiq LCD monitor. • Next time I'll realize eye size in proportion to video screen. Gee I've only been doing this for four years now.

  • Well, I also think it's matter of practice: the more you practice, the more your eye get used to the forms and in one point you don't need the proportion lines anymore.

  • love the damn line quality man

  • does drawin on the computer slow down your skill progression?

  • four years ? Well, my experience with tablet is that I'm quite inaqurate in terms of drawing clear and nice shapes - which is obviously not your problematic area...

I lvoe it. Did you draw before those 4 years of working with tablet ?

  • great drawing and one where we get the chance to see how you start a drawing.

I see you don't use aid lines. I always start with some lines that outline the whole shape which i can later erase but those lines always help me when it comes down to find the right proportions.... ifyaknowwhatimean :)

  • great tutorial, great advice, keep it up Matt!

  • thanks for the video. :)

  • gODi want a cintiq ... XD I start with the eyes and use little dots step by step

  • I think its like this: if you are unsure how to go about proportions, you do the guide lines and stuff, and if you are like this guy, very good at proportions, you can just start wherever you want. I need a bit of guide lines myself, it all depends on how much I want it to look like the model ;)

  • nvm... I just skipped the 2/3 part of the movie... I should see the whole and then comment
