GOOD RIDDANCE?: A silent night as Kenyans prepare to usher in 2012. Most Kenyans hope for better fortunes in 2012.

Now, the year 2011 is one that saw many significant changes take place in the Kenyan nation, some positive while others were not so. It was also a year of immeasurable suffering for a majority of who had to contend with sky-high inflation, drought and floods, as well incessant political bickering within the fragile grand coalition government and the threat to homeland security now posed by the Al Shabaab terror group. And so as the year draws to a close, many Kenyans are hopeful that 2012 will bring a much anticipated change in fortunes, both politically and economically.
