Cool video, thanks!

@lacolumnadurruti I'll have to check that out, the jfet boosts didn't work. :(

@lacolumnadurruti Thanks!!! I'll have to hightail it to frys. Also, will a square modulator work?

I got it to work! Thanks. I just have to work on two jfet boosts in order to make the volume normal.

@julieail oh, awesome! glad to hear it! sorry i hadn't logged in to check these comments in a while. you could use a cd4049 and get two easy-to-build boosts from one chip. actually, you could get six from the one chip. the 4049 is mosfet, not jfet, though...if it matters to you.

I have tried that one so many times and it didn't work. What did you do differently?
julieail 1 year ago
@julieail the only differences are the addition of the bypass switch and connecting both inputs together with a switching jack.
are you using the correct diodes? you have to use germanium (i hear schottky diodes work, too, but haven't tried them yet). you also need to match all four diodes as closely as possible.
if you're using guitar or vocals, you would need to boost the signal.

schematics?

@julieail just do a google search for "passive ring modulator schematic." it will come up within the first couple results. i think it's even on the wikipedia page for ring modulation.
