Jeez. Somebody needs to tell this guy that brevity is the soul of wit. He's spoofed on for two and a half minutes and I have NO idea what point he is trying to make. And I'm bored with him now.

@UtahOpenCarry People who text while driving are beyond retarded.

If it's legal to open carry, then one need not worry about alerting the officer about their weapon.
If the officer were to ask you if you have anything in the car he should know about, and you fail to mention anything about a weapon, he may then become suspicious of your intent to hide this information.
Remember that if he asks you specifically if you have any weapons you are obliged to tell him anyway. Using this technicality only arouses suspicion and is not beneficial to you.

lol they just passed no texting and driveing now they are guna gun for video driveing hahah i wish some one would hit me and my fam while they are recording on the highway i would beat the bricks off someone

Understanding the intricacies of the law is a very good thing. But common sense tends to beat out being a dick every time. Why instigate a problem where there is none? Thumbs up to the video for going over technicalities.

The officer didn't say you have to tell him. You probably should tell either way if you want to avoid getting shot. I don't know how cautious Utah police are, but here in Memphis, you move quick and...boom. Also, why do you feel the need to "but heads" with the officer. What's wrong with just doing what he asks unless he is abusing his power? You seem to want to create as much unreasonable and unnecessary conflict as possible. Please explain for the possibility that I don't understand.

I've found having the radio tuned to some light classical music as background noise helps mellow out an officer real fast.

Booooorrriiiiing!

You'd get better gas mileage if you weren't on and off the gas pedal so much while cruising.
People who make videos while driving are semi-retarded.

Let me simplify things. If you get pulled over, have your license-reg-insurance out and an interior light in your rig on before the cop gets up to the window. Have your hands on the wheel or on the door sill and casually tell him your either a ccw holder and packing or you have your pistol wherever it is. If you’re cool, 99% of the cops are cool.

@highdesertutah Turning on the dome light is a good idea and hands on the wheel. But, constitutionally it is the Cops job to observe any crimes and handle the situation.
You can waive your 4th (and 5th if you may be outside the law) amendment rights if you'd like. But there is no requirement in Utah Law and if you do so for the Perceived Safety for the officer, that's your thing. Don't lie to a cop, but you don't need to answer his questions.
You don't need a cop's validation to carry.

I lawfully possess and transport guns and ammo. I go to the airport to meet an incoming friend. Security cop stops me in traffic, he is directing, cars, do I blurt out I got guns and ammo? No, are you stupid? Why should I 1.) increase his anxiety level, or 2.) create a waste of my time and inconvenience? What about a DUI/Seatbelt checkpoint? Same thing don't tell. Why? It's stupid. I'm a US Citizen! I have the power.

@borderraven Exactly the point. Use your constitutional rights of the 4th and 5th amendments. Some cops and security officers often view Citizens as "civilians" or "subjects".
I think the fact that many officer are former military it creates (1) Patriot Cops who respect your rights and (2) Cops with the Citizens = Enemy viewpoint.
