The Tensas River Reforestation Project will eventually sequester nearly 450,000 tons of CO2 emissions and restore native forest to 1,100 acres -- an area larger than Central Park. It will enlarge wildlife habitat, improve the local water supply and ecosystem, and help bridge the divide in the fight against global warming while we transition to a clean energy future.
Thanks to our partners: Trust for Public Land, Environmental Synergy Inc., and U.S. Fish & Wildlife. Special thanks to Volkswagen of America, without whose donation the "Volkswagen Forest" would not be possible.
If Volkswagen wants to plant trees in the U.S., more power to them. The U.S. has to be one of the most deforested countries in the world.
