If the Abarth Punto was brought here into the states, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Ads are irrelevant. Fiat always had reliability issues & people still have bad memories of it.

Having been so excited about Fiat's return to the U.S., it's been painful to witness the marketing missteps for the brand. Fiat *should* have found a real ad agency who could deliver a bold and humorous message as original as the car itself -- like VW circa 2000, or Mini circa 2004. Instead, we got sophomoric ads (print AND tv) that would have been embarrassing for an undergraduate class project. What a missed opportunity. A small car *can* succeed here, if you build brand equity the right way.

karl abarth has a german surname (austrian), the french CEO doesn't even know how to pronounce it (changes pronunciation 4 or 5 times)
good for the man who is in charge of the marketing of the fifth biggest automotive group in the world.
in my university course of marketing i'm learning that product is the first step of marketing, it means communication of brand, product characteristics and hopefully correct name.
however, buy an abarth. it's wonderful.
