  • CONT : I wish to learn from this agonizing injustice - Wilde was victimized by bigotry and xenophobia... so, who are the equally persecuted now? and how can we elaborate upon Oscar Wilde's brilliance and mental lucidity by fully and thoroughly embracing the "outcast" of today?

  • Oscar Wilde was clearly one of very few historical geniuses, and I don't use that phrase lightly ... so I can't help but wonder: what are the unwarranted restrictions of today? With informed hindsight and over 100 years of clarity of reflection, we can easily grasp the severe injustice imbued upon Wilde in his day - but I seriously ask you, and not rhetorically, how are we tainted today in our own way?   • @IIIdobyIII I agree, but I would add that he was a beautiful bird who fell to the ground because some rotten boys threw rocks at him until they hit him. He fell and lay stunned for awhile, then got up only to find he could no longer fly. So he walked about on the ground with all the lowly and base things of life for a time, but soon died from a broken heart, because beautiful birds who sing sublime songs are not meant to dwell in the dirt of the world.
