  • (: it is a fantastic keyboard and am very happy you like it.

I am currently at the end of a 10 day tour of Concert Poland and have exclusively used the SK2 for every gig including Blue Note Jazz Club.

It is fantastic .. Cheers .. Malc

  • A very respected recording engineer with a vast experience of Hammonds and retro keys with major artistes including Rhoda Scott was at the live demo and was more than enthusiastic about the sound, See BLOG link below

This keyboard can do things on the fly the others can only dream of.

Please read my BLOG which goes into depth on this subject:

  • yes.. you can layer - split - zone tonewheel with extra voices (-: ..

Very powerful and useful in performance. You can also keymap the tonweheel voices and other sounds independently on both manuals and save to pre-sets.

This gives you some very interesting layer and split options.

The sound is great.. The issue is that video posted on various web sites ./ channels is normally recorded on video cams / phones etc so does not represent a true picture of how good the SK's really are.

  • There is only one set of drawbars due to the physical size of the Sk. There are three switches that select the drawbars to change Upper - Lower and Bass the same as the XK-1. You can see on the video at '1min' the lower drawbars being changed on the fly.

  • NO ... Absolutely not .. The XK's continue. The SK is aimed at a different kind of player although at the Frankfurt show last week many XK-3 owners said they would add the SK-1 to their rig. Cheers.. Malc

  • I honestly think that every nursing homein the world should have available from the front desk, a portable Hammond that is easy to use- AKA Hammond tone wheel organ.Make a nice simple, non programmable version with the VASE III or whatever you call it. Just a plain old great Hammond, but small and portable. I mention nursing homes not to be funny.

  • Can you tell me about the keyboard stand and matching bench you were using? I think it's sharp and if I were to buy the SK2 I'd like to investigate that set to use with it. Thanks!

  • Just got my SK2. Got to say that the sound is GREAT! Organ, piano, wur, rho and clav. GREAT! Even sound I don't use sounds good. The action of the keys - was a bit worried cause I bought it without trying - are AWSOME! Don't really feel like boosting this product cause I think Hammond support totally suck BIG TIME! Had to buy a C2 case beacuse they didn't respond to any of my SEVEN emails asking them about the case. By the way I've had/have most of Clavias stuff - pianos on SK are at least as go

  • does anybody know if the quality of the keys is the same as the xk3 or the same as the xk1, or maybe even different?

  • is the stand and the bench going to be available to,perhaps like the stand for the XK-3 dual manual set?

  • really impressive.

any kind of moog or synth solo sound?

    thanks for sharing

  • Do the SK1 and 2 have electronic busbar contacts like the new B3 mkII? For a percussive player like myself, that is the most important feature I'm looking for in a portable.

  • I'm thinking an SK-1 might look good on top of my A-100 and add some flexibility. I've done it with my old Roland JX-3P, but to effectively add another manual with all the same sounds plus more (plus MIDI and all the modern trappings) might be a good investment at some point when I'm flush. What's the going rate?
