A huge train tackles the Tehachapi Loop with ease, no surprise with Seven Locomotives up front to pull it over the top towards Mojave with 111 wagons in tow.

  • I'm not trying to be a jerk, but trains in America have cars, not wagons. Just so you know. Again, im not trying to be a jerk. great video, thats pretty amazing how the line goes over itself.

  • @Joshuajlawn Cars drive on roads or highways as you call them.Trains pull wagons or passenger carriages,so the word "car" you use is to describe a wagon is an abbreviation of carriage.

All the best from the country that invented Railways

  • Locomotives is 6 (six), not 7 (seven). Between the fourth and fifth locomotive is a wagon.

  • @Zanacek 7 Locomotives are in the train formation Not 6 as you state.

Look closer my friend. They would not put a wagon in the middle of these locomotives as the back locomotives would not be in multiple with the other locomotives up front. The aim of having so many locomotives in multiple is to get the train over the pass, more horse power to get the heavy train moving so they would not put a wagon in the middle of the locomotives.

  • That is unbelievable

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !!!!!!

  • @Joshuajlawn Your are correct there, atleast somebody not a ' know it all train foamer' knows what hes talking about, Here in Australia we call them Hoppers-Cars-Wagons, In America its Freight Cars and Freight Wagons

  • Great video!

  • That train is probably roughly 6,000 feet long. That's over a mile long! That's crazy!!!

  • One man got stuck behind the crossing gates.

  • That's an awesome catch. I'm sure that the engineer/conductor can keep an eye on their train when on this loop.

  • I was sent a postcard of this loop once. But you don't appreciate the scale of the design until you see it in action.

    Excellent demonstration!

  • Great view and vantage point. Thanks.
