It's a good book. It's "a pain to read" only because it's a mix of poetry and pose, but that also helps it flow. It "has no plot" because it's written in vignettes, and each one is a description of a certain topic. It has many themes, such as growing up, womanhood, and Hispanic heritage. You just don't like it because it's different from other books—it's more artistic and harder to interpret, but it does have some deep emotional themes, you just have to know what to look for.

@ToolSoldier462 she uses the most amazing literary devices i have ever read in a book. without them the book would not have been as good. Sandra Cisneros is a fantastic author, and this book is amazing

@buccsvortex19 Maybe because YOU can't relate to it in anyway, I think I can and I love this book so much is because I grew up real close to Mango street and I am Hispanic.

I am doing a video on t.h.o.m.s for my LA project and I am doin the entire book not just 1 chapter. It will b hard but it'll be worth it

I do not care what you say, this book is a waste of time for a male to read. It does not pertain to us in anyway, and is just kind of dull. But either way, good production of this vignette
