Hey!! Good luck on your final! Sorry about the splicing, I kept getting out of the camera view, but this will at least help you practice.

Transcription for the ASL-impaired:
This is the story called "One Fine Day."
One Fine Day, there was a fox trotting along when suddenly his attention was drawn to a pail. He was quite inquisitive and so proceeded to see what was inside. Much to his excitement, it was filled with fresh milk. After making sure no one was around, he took a small taste. It was so delicious and sweet, he could hardly control himself as he inhaled the ENTIRE pail of milk! The fox was filled to satisfaction and curled up for a nap. Meanwhile an old lady was shuffling her way over to her pail of milk. She was very perturbed to find that it was completely empty!
"Who stole my milk!?!" She questioned.
She didn't have to look far before she found the sleeping fox. At this, the old woman became utterly unhinged and in a wild craze pulled a knife from her pocket and sliced the fox's tail right off his body!
The fox cried out in anguish, "YOU STOLE MY TAIL!! GIVE IT BACK!!"
To which the old lady replied, "Well hey, you stole my milk! When you give me my milk, I'll give you your tail."
Despite the fox's anger, he agreed and with his head hung low he went off to find some milk.
"Where am I supposed to find milk?" he thought.
It wasn't long before he found a cow and asked, "Would you mind giving me some milk to give to the old lady who will give me my tail? It'd really make me happy..."
The cow looked down at the fox, momentarily pausing from her cud chewing and replied, "If you give me some grass, I'll give you milk."
Although the fox was disappointed by her response, he agreed and traipsed off to find some grass.

(ugh I'm tired...more transcription later.)

  • dude, you are the hyphy-est fox I've ever seen.

All of the people in my class try to be all cutesy as the fox.

Our teacher didn't want us to tell the full story, in our versian the girl just gave us the container and we went back through everyone and finished.

my version is on my channel, btw.

  • Lol

Thanks, I think (?) Not sure what "hyphy" means...

I'll go check yours out right now

  • Hyphy is bay-area for crazy, with a tinge of rebelliousness.

I'm in ASL 2, so my version is going to be a little less speedy than what you are probably used to.

  • What is the goal of your assignment? I bet it isn't speed :)

  • Nice story I always put "Sweet Bertha" in My stories Haha

  • Oh yea..well uh, that was the old lady's name ;)

  • okay, that's true.

  • Actually, I'm a man.

  • You are an awesome story teller!!! I loe your expressions.

    :D.

Its nice of you to put transcripts for us ASL-impaired people. :D.

  • the best way to learn is get into the Deaf community and practice with fluent signers. If you ask your teachers they should know of ASL events going on in your community. It may feel awkward at first but most Deaf people are very patient and willing to work with you no matter the skill level. When I started interacting with the Deaf community my signing skills increased dramatically. I waited until I was in ASL 4 to really start attending Deaf events but I wish I had started sooner.

  • im a student going to asl2 do u know of any good resources to study like dvd or books
