If you've been following the course of this movie poster series, then you've been getting the basic elements together. You've arranged the background, changed the sky, changed the colors of both elements and added the cityscape. Now, it's time to get really detailed with the poster, such as adding destructive elements to it. You'll want to make the city look old and destroyed. 

The best way to do this is to return to the original image of the cityscape and begin adding elements there.

Before you begin, you'll want to find elements of destroyed buildings by conducting a Google image search with keywords such as destroyed, destroyed building, war, bombed, etc. You can also search for different cities that have been through war, such as Baghdad and Sarajevo.

You may want to create a separate layer or mask for your image. This will ensure that the changes you make don't affect the original elements, so you'll always be able to go back to the original.

Select the Polygonal Lasso Tool from the left side tool bar. Begin clicking around a building you want to work on destroying.

Once you complete the Lasso, select the appropriate layer from the Layers panel and right-click on the selection. Choose Layer via Copy. 

You have now created a separate layer of your selection that you can begin working with.
