i got a wacom 4x5 for 100$. That basic one will do you, its the same princibles as the bigger ones, but cheaper. YOu just got to get use to it.
@ hazonku, know any other good sites for tutorials like these?

Photoshop and a graphics tablet. I use Photoshop CS3 and a Wacom Intuos3 tablet to make my speed painting videos. I use SnagIt to capture the work then I import into Windows Movie Maker, from there I speed all the clips up, then output the finished piece as a .wmv and upload to youtube. That's all there is to it!
