Just from reading the comments on here, I am shocked at how ridiculous some of you people are! Getting patients to open wide and STAY open is the hardest part. Number one reason why orthodontic appliances fail is because patients won't stay open and their saliva contaminates the area so the braces or appliances won't stick. The check retractors are not impeding her from opening. It's up holding the cheeks back. This doctor is highly trained to do this and I'm sure he has seen thousands of case
