WIRE DAISIES

UK four piece, the Wire Daisies, have just entered a joint venture with Merovingian Music and Transistor Project for their upcoming North American release distributed by Caroline/EMI.

This North American release will include tracks from both of their 2 critically acclaimed albums released in the UK and Europe as well as the unreleased track "Mary Jane", and the club hit, "Gay Boy".

Obvious song writing and musical talent aside, the band's media profile has no doubt benefited from the presence of Queen's Roger Taylor in the band's story. Taylor was responsible for discovering band lead singer Treana Morris, seeing her playing in one of his Cornish hometown music bars. Taylor's interests lead to a band being formed. A signing with London based digital record label Transistor Project followed.

Their 2004 debut album, Just Another Day, produced by John Cornfield (Oasis, Muse, Supergrass, Razorlight) went straight to No. 1 in the French and UK iTunes charts. The lead single "Make Everything Change" was Record of the Day and then Single of the Week on iTunes. This was followed by an invitation to perform alongside James Blunt at the Digital Music Awards.

In their relatively short time as a live band, the Wire Daisies have been invited to perform twice at the world famous Montreux Jazz Festival as well as opening artists for a wide range of musicians and performers including Robbie Williams, Deep Purple, and Seal proving the credibility of their musicianship and song-writing.

The Wire Daisies kick started 2005 with the release of the stunningly beautiful "Everyman", which BBC Radio 2 added straight to their B play list and the track subsequently entered the Top 20 airplay charts.

Later in 2006 the Wire Daisies went back into the studio and recorded their second album with John Cornfield at their own studio in Cornwall, The Barn, Redruth. With a rockier vein, the second album, eponymously entitled Wire Daisies, highlights the eclectic mix of the band's writing. The album moves from out-and-out rock tracks such as "Time Will Tell" to full-bloodied Treana Morris' ballads, such as "Never Meant To Hurt You", "Silver Top" and "Leaving So Soon" which all will appear on the North American release.

Release Date: WireDaisies (Merovingian Music / Transistor Project) in stores Nov, 2007

  • I think the video took the idea that gay is in our genes and played around with the idea. Genetic testing happens with sheep alot. They are trying to prove that gay is genetic so the fact they say at the end, "I'll make you gay." Is sort of a joke. Overall the video is fun, imaginative, and politically incorrect!

  • I'm as hetro as they come...a 54 year old grandmother with four straight kids, a straight husband, etc. We've always encouraged our kids to be themselves, and welcomed all of their friends into our home. One is gay, and is the best hair stylist for miles around. He calls me "Mom" and I love him like my own. Great Video!!! A big Yes from Utah!!!

  • Haha, I love the last bit "I could turn gay right now!"

    Me too! :P.

I dunno, I really don't care for this song.

  • I think that it is just a crappy simple song that is trying to get attention by being topical. Piss off.
