Great little tune here. Recorded live in Amsterdam in 1953. Cracking stuff.

  • how is it that every man who i cant be with is a bluesman?

  • @hchoron I know!! he was a genius .. glory of love is the same .. sounds so simple but to sing it and play like he does seems virtually impossible!

  • The next song he sang on this set 4 those who are interested was "swing low sweet chariot".Its a live album most likely still available...the first track is "when i've been drinking".A great album.

  • thanks been lookin for this for ages

  • playing this tune is one thing, but singing it at the same time is a real challenge. big bill sets the bar really high.

  • I've only got two thumbs to put up for this, but I'm thinking of having extras grafted on just to give it more!!

  • double like

  • Thanks for posting this.

I had a fantastic album with Big Bill Broonzey, Sonny Terry and Brownie Mcghee

being interviewed and interspersed with gems like this one.

Trouble is..I seem to have lost it and I'm gutted !!

  • @nomiclas Well, no, not if this is 1953...

  • this was during a time when the charleston and jitterbug were the rage
