@TheSoken123 I was well controlled at the beginning for my A1, about 96. But I started to become nervous after the appregio ,and become faster and faster, maybe I reached 106... And that caused my collapse, lumps of wrong notes and overwhelmed tempo.. I'm a bad performer . btw my friend took C1 and got 27/30 , he's good at playing pieces with fast tempo, having a 27/30 for A3 too, what I wonder the most is that, how can he also have a 28/30 with his B3.. My friend and me are preparing for grade8

@TheLord913 actually I don't really think A1 in grade 7 is too hard. well, I played only about 72 or something and got 26/30. btw, your C3's good. ha. me played C1 and got same mark as you. xd

For me, I still think it's better to avoid this piece even at Trinity ATCL level, which also requires the first two mvts., Sinfonia and Allemande. ABRSM is like this every year, and in one year, there is Bach's Italino Concerto mvt. 3. It's even demanding for pianists to play these interestingly.

this is f*cking impossible to play I tell you

@ColinMitchellMusic Can you play A1 Grade 1?
-
@paulturtle92 Thank you! I actually failed my A1 in grade 7 this year(19/30), pieces in fast tempo are never my advantage...
P.S. I got a 27/30 in C3 =D

@TheLord913 Actually you guys have it hard this year. The Partita No.2, which this Capriccio is from, (and imo the hardest one in the set), is one of the exam choices for the ATCL exam. Tips: learn to like the Capriccio. I hated it at first, but now play it everyday for warmups :D And good luck for the exam!

@paulturtle92 I rarely play Baroque pieces. I also often play the quavers of the LH semi-legato as I play pieces from Classical period more often. It's a challenge for my grade 8 exam...
-
@TheLord913 I have the Wiener Urtext Edition, and there's no dynamic indicators here as well (chances of getting dynamic indicators for the Baroque period <= 0.01%. LOL!) And Bach never indicated the exact tempo, merely wrote "allegro". I like to play it at about M.M. (crotchet) = 140. I try to follow the sequential "blocks" for dynamic indicators, accentuating the main melody whenever it presents itself, and playing it semi-legato. (Not good practice for Baroque)

@paulturtle92 That version has a different expression of the piece. Since there is no forte or piano printed even on my grade 8 exam bk, the variety of the piece is very wide.
May I ask what you use to record? Such clear and beautiful sound quality :)

@InnocentOracle Thanks! It's a Kemble Silent Series piano recorded directly to the PC
