if these CFLs were that good, many ppl around the world wouldnt be stocking up on good old incandescents. No matter how hard they try, a cfl will never have the exact warm light quality that an incandescent has. so im not convinced. i will stick to my incandescents.
Realiabilty IS an issue with these lights. Rest of the complaints are really unfounded. I had bought abot 20+ bulbs from different manufacturers so far and two of them failed within days. So much for 10,000 hours... Do you ever recall an incandecent light failing within days? Never.
I would stick with known brands like GE & Silvania/Philips. Buying chinese made crap will wind up costing you more in a long run.
I laugh when people flat out reject products without researching them first.
People don't even know when they sound like idiots.
My old boss was the cheapest man I've ever met and he refused to switch to CFLs. He had no reason to slam them, but he did. I tried to show him the facts, but even still, he rejected the idea. People can be so foolish for absolutely no reason.
LEDs is where it's at, I'm already slowly replacing our cfls with them in our most commonly lit areas.

Not as much mercury in a CFL as in a simple flu shot. Go line up and get your injection today, like good little sheep.

they also contain mercury which is a serious hazard and that can lead to long term problems

History lesson: The modern CFL was invented by Ed Hammer, an engineer with General Electric, in response to the 1973 oil crisis.
