Dude.. You just described every Western country these days. It's a shame, but politicians never seem to do what we hire them to do; protect our best interest. For instance, the European council giving in to Monsanto lobbying. It's sad and a bit frightening, realizing that voting has so little effect on what the hell happens around you.
