The Blue Balloon

This animation was made for UNRWA's 60th anniversary. This year UNRWA marks 60 years since the establishment of the agency. This commemoration offers an occasion for sober reflection but also an opportunity to showcase UNRWA's service and achievement during six decades of work alongside millions of Palestine refugees.

The Blue Balloon is a symbolic motif which represents UNRWA. It is like a protective moon that has accompanied the Palestine refugees throughout their exile. The balloon is a symbol of hope it can rise over obstacles; it is also a childhood object, representing the innocence of children who are the chief recipients of UNRWA services.

Quite a disgrace! 60 years of relief and works for the refugees? is that what you are proud of? The question is what's still keeping these people as refugees... what have you done to return them to their homeland?... what have you done to return their rights to them? you are an agency of the UN. what has the UN done about all that. the hard fact is that it is the UN which created the problem for these people to begin with. The UN created Israel which created the refugee problem.
