  • When will you do part II?

Ideas for additions to part II: Alien, Secret of NIMH, Gremlins

  • Not sure yet..."Alien,"L.A. Confidential" and "Patton" will be included, among others.

  • Nice selection, but 'Alien' is missing...

  • Coming Soon..."The Film Music of Jerry Goldsmith part 2" (will include Alien)

  • Jerry Goldsmith was the best!

  • Movies quite simply, will never be the same again. Mr Goldsmith's music helped me make it through some of the worst periods of my life. The man was a gift from God.

  • @Elizabeththegreatest Goldsmith talks about his experience on the Omen in 'Film Music Masters: Jerry Goldsmith' (available on YouTube). It's interesting how the idea of the score came about.

  • wow, i always loved the quatermain theme, and i didn't even know it was by jerry goldsmith! awesome, thanks for that! :D

  • How did he come up with the score for the omen?

  • Other great movies that Goldsmiths music was in were "The Sand Pepples", "Tora, Tora, Tora," "Von Ryan's Express", "Poltergeist", "Planet of the Apes" and, "Papillon"

  • Thank you so much for including The 13th Warrior. By far his last great and one of his most underrated score!

  • Logans Run was my first soundtrack i had

still have it on vinyl 35 years later.

    Fanstatic electronic sounds

  • And the "Legend".....?

  • @nikosvault, apparently Goldsmith wasn't on good working terms with director Stepehne Sommers on 'The Mummy' and that might explain why it's not up to his usual high standards for that kind of film. Goldmsith was openly critical of both the film and director, which is uncharacteristic, so it must have been a bad experience.

  • Actually Star Trek: The Motion Picture was 4th most popular movie at the box office when it was released in 1979.

Also If you adjust it for today inflation. Star Trek: The Motion Picture is still most successful trek movie at the box office.

  • It's a shame two of the flims here he composed "The 13'th Warrior" and "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" bombed at the box office. :(
