Kumara Ray--Faure -Apres un Reve apr 2008

Canada Music Competion, Provincial finals at Eglise St.Laurent.April 27,2008. Kumara is almost 18. She recieved a mark of 84% from the 3 judges which was not good enough to take her through to the finals.

What you call the primal sound would be the center of the voice, like the child voice that mature?

I don't know that Oren Brown. Gonna make some research.

And I think that all young voices should start with light repertoire, no matter what type of voice they have.

My voice teacher was in Vienna in the 50's and her teacher then, a dramatic soprano, could sing all the soubrette arias in style. Best way to keep a healthy voice for a long time.

Jeez people...I am a singer and a voice teacher...singing is a process. It's not about perfection and with a young singer no need to be so incredibly harsh! And teacher mentioned here is regarded, in many circles, as being someone singers should stay away from! In any case, sure there are things to work on but we all of things to work on!

You like the hard stuff girl. You have a good voice but it is somewhat lost. Some notes are beautiful some seem contrived. These songs, this and Nacht und Traume are SO challenging for the most accomplished of singers. The etherial is not easily achieved. The serens, poised linear songs are always the most difficult. That said, you have some really good sounds, I think it;'s just a matter of time, so you can only wait, the body and the voice must work together and that comes with maturity,!

The sound sounds manufactured to me, rather than idiomatic. If you are serious about singing, then get another teacher. Most of the rep you are singing in these videos is not appropriate for your age or skill level. You really need work on finding your primal sound. Pick up a copy of Oren Brown's "discover your voice"...it helped me when I needed to rework my technique..and now I wouldn't be without it. I don't think you'll ever be world class, but you certainly can be much better than now.

An absolutely gorgeous voice, but you should slow down a little. The song seemed a bit rushed.
