Sophie Schulenburg: But until the truck is finished, a few screws need to still vanish into the wood - well, quite a lot of screws! And that's why Karl Kaufhold secured himself go-getting support today. Lutz Marquardt, Jo Weil and Thore Schölermann. "Verbotene Liebe" actors, Aidshilfe ambassadors and today actually booked for work. Although they may not be clear on that yet.
Thore: Will we really help you? Yes? Oh, I like that. Do you have a good cordless screwdriver?
Lutz: Ready? Go!
Sophie Schulenburg: And so it begins. First instruction: the colour boards need to go on the "Bracke." What?
Lutz: Bracke? Go down. Oh, that thing!
Jo: It's hanging? May I let go?
Karl Kaufhold: It's hanging.
Jo: That was my problem! Is it hanging on the "Bracke"? What is a "Bracke"? For me, as a non-mechanic?
Sophie Schulenburg: Right! That thing back there, that's the "Bracke." The three guys are slowly beginning to have fun.
Thore Schölermann: I especially like to do this. I've been supporting the Aidshilfe for quite some time, actually years already, and I think the best things are always, where you can lend a hand. And not just, what we always do, show our faces. We can lend a hand here and I like that a lot.
Lutz: One, two, three!
Sophie Schulenburg: That the Aidshilfe is specifically constructing this truck has a reason. The truck advertises the "Run Of Colours," a charity race benefitting the Aidshilfe. This will take place on July 16 and the six colour boards make up the logo of the competition. A very important project for the actor Jo Weil and one more reason to campaign for the Aidshilfe.
Jo Weil: Because I just think the topic of Aids and HIV are just still very dangerous and that you can't talk about them enough. And the Aidshilfe does an enormous amount of work in the field of prevention. And I think especially this project, "Run Of Colours," is a way of bringing the topics to the public without a wagging finger. I think a sport event, where everybody has fun, is the perfect mix.
Lutz: Look, the woman is even hugging ya!
Jo: Yes!
Lutz: Not bad, right?
Sophie Schulenburg: At the end, the Aidshilfe truck will be one of over 100 trucks, which will roll through the Cologne city on Sunday. Loud, funny and colourful - as the parade of the Christopher Street Day is supposed to be. Lutz Marquardt has been up on the truck once before and apparently it made a lasting impression on him back then.
Lutz Marquardt: It's a very, very nice feeling. It's a lot of fun. All the people are in a really good mood. A diversity of people are there. A lot from the Aidshilfe, of course. Male and female followers, actors. Sustenance is provided. The weather is also always bombastic. I can only recommend to anybody, who has the chance to be there, to tag along! It's a lot of fun.
Sophie Schulenburg: The truck won't get completely finished today, although Karl Kaufhold doesn't want to put the cordless screwdriver down. In any case, he had diligent helpers and he still has a few days until Sunday.
