Original quote:
"Love is the ultimate outlaw. It just won't adhere to any rules. The most any of us can do is to sign on as its accomplice. Instead of vowing to honor and obey, maybe we should swear to aid and abet. That would mean that security is out of the question. The words "make" and "stay" become inappropriate. My love for you has no strings attached. I love you for free."
Story behind this? I was taking a "quick study break" and playing around with a few chords I liked, when on impulse I started singing the words from one of my favorite passages in Tom Robbins' novel, Still LIfe With Woodpecker! The words had such a wonderful rhythm... it just seemed natural. So I let myself get a little improv-silly!
Needless to say, I had wayyy too much fun and my chemistry book was left lonely and ignored for quite some time....
For these words, I give ardent thanks and credit to Tom Robbins =] He doesn't just have a way with words.... He has HIS way with words.
well done! thank you, i always loved these words. A.
